EOIN Kelly has returned to Tipperary’s starting line-up ahead of Sunday’s Munster hurling championship clash with Limerick in Semple Stadium.
Kelly didn’t start any of Tipp’s league games this season but the experienced Mullinahone man starts in the full-forward line alongside Brian O’Meara and John O’Brien. Lar Corbett is among the subs.
Corner-back Donogh Maher is the only debutant on the side that shows six changes from the one that was beaten by Kilkenny in last year’s All Ireland final. Thomas Stapleton comes in at wing-back, Brendan Maher and James Woodlock form a new midfield partnership while Pa Bourke and Brian O’Meara are the newcomers in attack. As well as Corbett, the others to miss out are Paddy Stapleton, John O’Keeffe, Seamus Callinan, Patrick Maher and Lisnagry-based teacher Shane McGrath.
Tipp are hot favourites to win the match at a price of 1/6 with Limerick at 9/2 and the draw at 12/1. In the handicap betting, Tipp -6 are 10/11 with Limerick +6 evens and the handicap draw priced at 12/1.
The game throws in at 4pm and is live on RTE2.
