FORMER Limerick senior hurler Cian Hayes is to play inter-county hurling with Louth in 2013.

The Kildimo-Pallaskenry man has submitted a declaration request to line out with The Wee County hurlers in the Nicky Rackard Cup.

As a teenager Hayes played league and championship hurling with Limerick in 2010 under Justin McCarthy.

In 2011 Hayes was part of the Limerick U-21 team that won the Munster title.

While he will play inter-county with Louth, it is understood that he will continue to play club hurling with Kildimo-Pallaskenry in the Limerick intermediate club championship.

Incidentally, the club have appointed Adare’s Tony Dunne as manager for the coming season.

Last season’s manager Alan Browne has submitted a transfer request to return to his native Claughaun.

Joining Cian Hayes in Louth will be club-mate Darren Walshe.

The Kildimo-Pallaskenry duo join Patrickswell’s Wesley Morrissey in the red and white of Louth for 2013.

Morrissey played with the Leinster minnows for the past few years.

Granagh-Ballingarry’s Bart Hanley is playing with Meath’s hurlers in 2013.
