Limerick senior footballer Pa Ranahan looks set to miss his club’s county senior football quarter-final this weekend.

The inter-county defender starred last Saturday as Ballysteen booked a surprise place in the knockout stages of the Limerick SFC.

However he departed on holidays the following morning and is not due back in time for Ballysteen’s quarter-final with St Kierans.

It is understood that Ballysteen had sought the game to be delayed for a number of days but on Monday night Limerick GAA officials fixed the game for this Saturday at 6.15 in Mick Neville Park in Rathkeale.

The other quarter-final between Dromcollogher-Broadford and Galbally takes place at the same time in Bruff.

The Limerick IFC quarter-finals were also scheduled for next weekend.

Oola will play St Marys Sean Finns in Clarina at Saturday at 6.15 - clashing with the two senior quarter-finals.

The other quarter-final takes place in Hospital on Saturday evening at 6.15 with Bruff playing Pallasgreen.

On Saturday evening at 6.00 in Ballyagran, Bruree play Croom in the intermediate football championship relegation final.

Earlier on Saturday there is a double-header of intermediate hurling championship quarter-final replays.

Killeedy play Cappamore at 2.30, while Dromin-Athlacca play Monaleen at 4.15.
