St Kierans advanced to play Ballysteen in the Limerick senior football championship quarter-final on a winning note with this 4-5 to 2-8 win over Adare.
St Kierans had already ensured their progression to the knockout stages ahead of the final group game, while Adare needed a win and favourable results elsewhere to extend their season.
It was a hat-trick of goals that decided the contest with Anthony Molyneaux continuing his impressive scoring form this season with 3-3 for the winners.
They led 3-2 to 0-5 at half time after a half when they failed to score a point from play.
Indeed they were to kick 15 wides in total over the hour.
Two Willie Griffin frees reduced the deficit in the second half but late points from Timmy Carroll ensured St Kierans ended the group phase with four wins from five games.
