TWO late points from Vinny O’Connell helped Galbally to a 1-11 to 1-10 win over Adare in the Limerick SFC on Saturday night.
An early goal from Darren Sheehy gave Galbally the lead early on but Adare fought back and a Robbie Bourke strike esnured the sides went in level at the break, 1-6 each.
There was never much between the sides throughout the second half and although Adare edged in front near the end, with Willie Griffin to the fore, Galbally held their nerve and O’Connell came up with the equaliser and the winner at the death.
The result means Galbally are in the driving seat to take the remaining quarter-final spot in Group 2. A win over St Patrick’s in the final round would see them qualify for the knockout stages just two years after coming up from intermediate.
