Host of Limerick Junior Football Championship county finals down for decision this weekend

THERE are four Limerick Junior Football Championship finals down for decision on Saturday afternoon. 

Ahane will be aiming for back-to-back promotions when they take on Fr Casey's second team in the Premier Junior Football final on Saturday at 2pm in Askeaton.

Former Irish Rugby internationals Ian Keatley and Sean Cronin are part of the Ahane side. Ahane senior hurling captain Ciaran Barry is also part of the east Limerick side. Ahane won the Junior A Football Championship last year, while Fr Casey's will be hoping that their second team can get over the line this weekend and that the Abbeyfale outfit can use this as a springboard. Casey's last won the Premier Junior championship in 2021.

Camogue Rovers face Adare's second team in the Junior ‘A’ football final on Saturday in Kilmallock at 2pm. Ahane defeated Camogue Rovers in last year's Junior A final. The south Limerick club will be hoping to go one step further than last year on Saturday and claim their first ever championship title at adult level. Adare are managed by their senior football manager Harry Gleeson. 

Knockainey take on Knockane  in the Junior ‘B’ football final on Saturday at 1pm in Staker Wallace GAA club. Knockane have not a won a championship title since 1940 at senior level and they have been beaten in the 2019 and 2022 Junior B final.

Trevor Cosgrove who played for the Limerick masters football team this year has continued to line out for his club Knockane in 2025. Knockainey last won the Junior B Championship in 2005, Tom Clancy who won a Junior B Championship with Ballybrown in 2017 has featured for Knockainey this year. 

South Liberties meet Athea in Junior ‘C’ Football final on Saturday at 2pm in Feenagh. Meanwhile, Monagea take on Doon's fourth team in the Junior C Hurling Championship final on Saturday in Mungret St Paul's GAA club at 12pm.
