Limerick Intermediate Football Championship begins to take shape

After two rounds of action, the tables in Groups One and Two are beginning to take shape in the Limerick Intermediate Football Championship.

In group one, Askeaton Ballysteen Kilcornan sit on top of the table with four points, 2024 junior champions Cappagh are also on four points. Dromcollogher-Broadford and St Patrick's are on two points, while Claughaun and Glin are yet to register a point. 

Askeaton-Ballysteen Kilcornan edged past Claughaun with a narrow 2-16 to 3-11 victory on Saturday evening. St Patrick’s also enjoyed success the same evening, overcoming Glin on a 4-12 to 2-10 scoreline. Meanwhile, Cappagh continued their winning start to the campaign, making it two from two as they got the better of Dromcollogher-Broadford by 2-11 to 1-8 on Thursday night.

In group two, 2024 county finalists Galbally remain the side to beat, sitting top on four points. St Senan’s and Pallasgreen follow closely behind in joint second place on three points each. Newcastle West’s second team occupy fourth spot on two points, while Gerald Griffins and Crecora Manister are still searching for their first win of the campaign.

Galbally underlined their credentials with a dominant 3-18 to 0-9 win over Crecora Manister, while St Senan’s produced an impressive 4-18 to 1-5 victory against Newcastle West. Pallasgreen did just enough to see off Gerald Griffins, coming through 1-12 to 3-5.
