Newcastle West defeated Mungret St Paul's on Friday evening in the Limerick SFC

SUPPORTERS cheered on Newcastle West and Mungret St Paul's on Friday evening in the opening round of the Limerick senior football championship at the Adare GAA Grounds. 

Newastle West did just enough to overcome a determined Mungret St Paul’s outfit in the opening round of the Limerick SFC, prevailing by a single point in a thrilling 0-20 to 2-13 encounter.

An injury-time point from wing-back Aaron Neville proved decisive as Newcastle West held firm during a frantic finale to seal a narrow victory.

Both sides will be back in action on August 15 and 16 in round two of the Limerick SFC.
