Limerick learn opponents for home quarter-final draw in Tailteann Cup

LIMERICK senior footballers have been drawn at home to Wexford in next weekend's Tailteann Cup quarter-finals.

The fixture details for the last eight clash will be confirmed later today. Monday, withe the quarter-final taking place at a Limerick venue next Saturday or Sunday.

Jimmy Lee's Limerick side secured direct passage to the quarter-finals of the Tailteann Cup after finishing top of their group.

Limerick defeated London 0-25 to 1-15 in their opening group fixture in Newcastle West last month. The Shanonsiders then followed up with a 1-18 to 1-10 victory over Antrim in Corrigan Park a week later.

A 0-19 to 0-18 victory over Westmeath in their final group game in Laois Hire O'Moore Park, Portlaoise ensured Limerick finished top of the group, ensuring Lee's charges progressed directly to the quarter-finals rather than having to play a preliminary quarter-final last weekend. 

Limerick's quarter-final opponents Wexford defeated Antrim in their preliminary quarter-final at the weekend to book their quarter-final date with the Shannonsiders.

Fixture details for next weekend's quarter-final will be finalised by the GAA's CCCC later today, Monday.

The semi-finals of the Tailteann Cup are due to take place on the weekend of June 21-22.

Fermanagh v Sligo

Wicklow v Westmeath

Kildare v Offaly

Limerick v Wexford
