Former Limerick football manager guides Austin Stacks to Kerry Intermediate Championship title

Austin Stacks won the Kerry Intermediate Football Championship yesterday

FORMER Limerick senior football Billy Lee has guided Austin Stacks to the Kerry intermediate football championship title. Lee is in his second year in charge of the Tralee based outfit.

Last year, Fossa dramatically defeated Austin Stacks in the Kerry IFC semi-final on penalties. Austin Stacks defeated Laune Rangers 1-14 to 0-5 in yesterday's Kerry intermediate football decider.

The Kerry intermediate champions will now go forward to represent their county in the Munster IFC.

Billy Lee was previously coach of the Austin Stacks senior team in 2016. The Newcastle West native was in charge of the Limerick senior footballers from 2017 until 2022. In his six years, the Treaty county claimed promotions from Division 4 up to Division 2.

Limerick reached the Munster final under Billy Lee in 2021. Billy's brother, Jimmy Lee is heading into his second year in charge of the Limerick senior footballers.
