
THE Limerick intermediate football championship semi-finals take place this Saturday.
Galbally face Gerald Griffins in the first of this weekend's IFC quarter-finals in Ballyagran on Saturday at 1:30pm. Galbally have registered four wins in group two. The South Limerick side suffered one defeat in their group campaign against Rathkeale.
Gerald Griffins progressed into the knockout stages on five points with a scoring differnece (+6) and St Senan's finished level on points with Gerald Griffins with a scoring difference (-11). The West Limerick side had a mixed group campaign where they won two of their group games, played out a draw with St Senan's and Gerald Griffins came up short against Dromcollogher Broadford.
The winner of Gerald Griffins and Galbally will face Dromcologher/Broadford in the IFC semi-final on the weekend of October 19/20.
Newcastle West and Claughaun meet in the second IFC quarter-final in Askeaton on Saturday at 4:30pm. Newcastle West have once again showed the depth within in their club. The Magpies second team have reached the last six and their senior team have reached the last four of the SFC.
Claughaun suffered relegation to the Intermediate ranks last year. The city based club will be hoping to make the jump back up to senior football.
The winner of Newcastle West and Claughaun will face Rathkeale in the IFC semi-final on the weekend of October 19/20.
The IFC final takes place in the first weekend of November. This year's Limerick intermediate county champions face the Cork champions in the Munster IFC quarter-final on November 10.
Meanwhile, Castlemahon take on Glin in the IFC relegation final on Friday evening at 8pm. The winner of this clash will retain their intermediate status and the loser will be relegated to junior football.
