LIMERICK manager John Allen has named a strong team for Sunday’s Allianz Hurling League Division 1B opener against Antrim in the Gaelic Grounds.

LIMERICK manager John Allen has named a strong team for Sunday’s Allianz Hurling League Division 1B opener against Antrim in the Gaelic Grounds.

Allen has named 11 of the side that started against Kilkenny in last year’s All Ireland quarter-final with goalkeeper Aaron Murphy in for his league debut instead of Nickey Quaid.

All the changes are in attack with SeamusHickey, Conor Allis and Kevin Downes coming in to start with David Breen, Sean Tobin and Niall Moran all making way.

Hickey has been named at centre forward in what is a new role for him and he lines out in an exciting half-forward line alongside Declan Hannon and Conor Allis.

New captain Donal O’Grady is named at centre back and he has familiar company as the back line and midfield is unchanged from that championship loss to Kilkenny last year.
