CAPPAMORE ensured they made an instant return to the intermediate football ranks with this 1-9 to 0-8 county junior A football championship final victory.
Twelve months ago the men from the east were relegated when they lost a play-off to Claughaun in the IFC.
But they have bounced straight back up after repeating their east final victory over Kilteely-Dromkeen.
The game was fixed for Bruff, but moved to the Gaelic Grounds.
It was a Niall Leahy goal in the 40th minute that proved the winning score.
That goal put the men in green and gold 1-8 to 0-2 clear and seemingly coasting towards victory.
However they failed to score for the final 20-minutes and Kilteely-Dromkeen came to life with seven unanswered points.
However they failed to find the winning goal with some last ditch defending from Paul Leahy and Diarmuid Sheehy in the Cappamore defence denying Kilteely-Dromkeen a dramatic comeback victory.
