LIMERICK GAA host an Open Evening for GAA supporters this Friday, May 10.

The pre-championship event is part of a national initiative to provide the opportunity for fans, young and old, to meet and greet their inter-county heroes.

Members of the Limerick senior hurling and football sides will be present along with members of the inter-county camogie and ladies football panels.

The event takes place in the University of Limerick North Campus, starting at 7.00.

“Similar to last year the emphasis on this event will be a family fun evening with a wide range of different activities and to give the opportunity to our younger supporters to meet and engage with their GAA hurling and football heroes in a one-to-one and group environment,” explained Limerick GAA PRO Eamonn Phelan.

“On this special evening we encourage all supporters to wear their county colours. Limerick GAA board will organise skill competitions such as crossbar challenge, beat the County goalie’s, small mini games, which will include senior players taking part and Handball - there will be lots of other activies on the night such as player’s autographs and photography opportunities, face painting, Music, free Limerick senior hurling, football, Ladies Football and Camogie photo’s,” outlined the PRO.

“We even have Wobbly Circus appearing at the event and he will perform a ‘ride about’ act on his comedy bicycle also he will perform fire juggling and other circus tricks around the event. It’s free, It’s fun so come out and enjoy the two hours. This fun evening will start at 7pm and will continue up until 8.30pm,” said Phelan.

There will also be free entry for a draw for three County signed jersey’s on the night.

Family tickets will also be on sale for the upcoming Limerick Munster championship games in hurling and football.
