THE newly created West Limerick Colleges make their Corn Ui Mhuiri debut this Wednesday October 10.

First up for the amalgamated side is clash against the reigning champions; Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne (Dingle).

The game, in the Munster senior A colleges football championship, takes place in Castleisland at 1.30.

West Limerick Colleges will have further games against Clonmel and North Clare Schools.

Two from the group will progress to the quarter-finals.

West Limerick Colleges is an amalgamation of Colaiste na Trocaire of Rathkeale, Colaiste Ide agus Iosef Abbeyfeale and SMI Newcastle West.

The Limerick side are managed by teachers; Garrett Noonan (Rathkeale), David Keannelly (Abbeyfeale), Diarmuid O’Connell (Abbeyfeale) and Diarmuid Crowley (Newcastle West).

The Limerick side will be backboned by club players from Fr Caseys, St Marys Sean Finns and Newcastle West, who were all semi-finalsts in the premier minor football championship.

West Limerick Colleges will be able to call upon six players that were part of the Tom McGlinchey’s Limerick minor football panel in 2012 - David Condron, Eoin O’Donnell, Darren Jones, Daniel Daly, Jack Breen and Cian Sheehan.
