Limerick continued their unbeaten run in Division 4 of the Allianz Football League thanks to a 0-10 to 0-9 win over Carlow in the Gaelic Grounds on Sunday.
Four points clear with three rounds to go, Limerick are almost certain to win promotion from the National Football League’s basement.
In a hard-fought game in the Gaelic Grounds on Sunday afternoon, Ian Ryan kicked the winner three minutes into injury time to preserve Limerick’s unbeaten start to the campaign.
Carlow had led for most of the match but Ryan got the equaliser from the free with a couple of minutes remaining before landing the winner shortly afterwards.
Carlow had led 0-7 to 0-5 at the break but Limerick fought back in the second half.
The win moves Limerick on to eight points on the table. Tipperary, Carlow, Offaly, Clare and Waterford are all tied on four each with London and Carlow on two.
