ALL-IRELAND champions Limerick will begin their 2023 season with two games in three days in the Co-Op Superstores Munster Hurling League.
John Kiely's heroes yet out on a team holiday across the Christmas-New Year period and are therefore the last of the six counties in the province into action.
Limerick are grouped with Cork and Kerry, who play on January 5.
But it's Sunday January 15 before Limerick's opening game - a trip to Pairc Ui Rinn to play Cork at 2pm.
Then just over 48-hours later, Limerick will play Kerry on Tuesday January 17 in Mick Neville Park at 7pm.
If Limerick reach the final of the early season competition, it will take place on Sunday January 22.
In the John Kiely era Limerick have contested the Munster Hurling League final in four of the five years it was played.
Limerick are the defending champions with Barry Nash captaining the side to victory last January. Limerick also won this provincial competition in 2020 and 2018.
The mid-January games will help Limerick prepare for the Allianz League which starts on Saturday February 4 at 7.30 against Cork in Pairc Ui Chaoimh.
Meanwhile, the footballers will play in the McGrath Cup.
Limerick are at home to Waterford on Wednesday January 4 in Mick Neville Park at 7pm and then away to Tipperary on Saturday January 14 in Templetuohy at 2pm.
