GAA issues important advice for fans ahead of this weekend's football league finals

GAA supporters attending this weekend's Allianz League football finals are being warned that screenshots of mobile tickets will not work and that entry to Croke Park may be refused.

In a notice, published this Good Friday morning, the GAA confirmed that mobile tickets for the two double-headers must be printed off or downloaded to supporters' phones in advance of their arrival at the venue.

Mobile tickets, which have grown in popularity in recent years, are scanned by officials at the turnstiles and the changes are designed to reduce touting.

The GAA which has issued advice to match-goers regarding the use of mobile tickets says multiple tickets can be downloaded and saved to a single phone and that it is possible to 'transfer' tickets to other supporters.

Given the large crowds expected - particularly on Easter Sunday - there may be data capacity issues on the mobile phone networks in-and-around Croke Park.

The first of the weekend games sees Down take on Westmeath in the division three final at 5pm on Saturday, followed by Leitrim versus Laois in the division four final at 7.15pm.

On Easter Sunday, Armagh take on Donegal in the division two final at 1.45pm while Dublin take on Derry in the division one final at 4pm.

All four matches will be broadcast on TG4 with further coverage on RTÉ Radio 1 and on local media.
