Limerick champions Monaleen face Clare opposition in Munster semi-final

LIMERICK champions Monaleen are set to face off Clare opponents Wolfe Tones Na Siona when they head to Raheenagh for their Munster Junior B Hurling semi-final this afternoon.

Monaleen will face Tipperary's Drom & Inch in the final if they can overcome the challenge of Wolfe Tones. Drom & Inch had a big win over Cork outfit St Oliver Plunketts in last week's first semi-final. Monaleen's semi-final was due to also take place week but was postponed due to the death of clubman Timmy Cosgrove.

Killeedy have hosted the the Munster and All-Ireland series since 2006 in all but one year. The 2021 competition was cancelled due to Covid.

Monaleen have returned to Junior A for the 2024 season following victory in the County Junior B final over fellow city outfit Ballybrown. They were relegated to Junior B in 2021.

A Limerick club are the current holders after Bruff won last year's Munster title after an epic battle with Tipperary's Thurles Sarsfields at Killeedy's ground in Raheenagh.

The south Limerick outfit then reached the All-Ireland final, also hosted by Killeedy, but fell to a heartbreaking defeat to Galway side Sarsfields on a 1-9 to 0-9 scoreline.
