LIMERICK'S opening game in their defence of the Allianz Hurling League with Antrim will take place in Semple Stadium, Thurles it has been confirmed.
The game was originally due to take place at a Limerick venue but has been moved to the Thurles due to the unavailability of the TUS Gaelic Grounds.
The pitch at the Ennis Road stadium is currently undergoing much needed works and will not be used again until the league game with Tipperary in early March.
Thurles is available due to both the Premier's hurling and football teams facing away fixtures that weekend in the league. There had been some talk of the game taking place in Antrim but Limerick GAA have now confirmed that Semple Stadium will host the fixture.
