IN PICTURES: Limerick hurling fans flock to Munster Hurling League clash with Clare

ALL-IRELAND champions Limerick opened their 2024 season with an impressive 2-21 to 1-19 victory over Clare in their Munster Hurling League group fixture played at Clarecastle GAA astroturf pitch on Wednesday evening.

An experimental Limerick side proved too strong for their neighbours in the sold-out fixture as John Kiely's side had goals from Cathal O'Neill and Luke Flynn.

Limerick return to action in the Munster Senior League on Wednesday night next when hosting Cork in their re-arranged game at Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale at 7pm.

Photographer Brendan Gleeson captured all the colour and excitement of Wednesday night's meeting of Limerick and Clare in Clarecastle for the Limerick Leader.
