FEENAGH-KILMEEDY fly the Limerick flag in Munster club action this afternoon when they make the trip to Mallow for the provincial club junior hurling final against St Catherine's of Cork.

The west Limerick side had a stunning victory over The Banner in their semi-final and now look forward to an historic final at the Cork venue.

Diarmuid Coleman and captain Maurice Fitzgibbon have starred on their run to both the Limerick final and to this stage in Munster. Former Limerick hurler Mark Keane, Feenagh-Kilmeedy's coach, will be hopeful that both will be in top form once more today.

Feenagh-Kilmeedy have recovered well from the heartbreak of losing the Limerick final to Mungret St Paul's on penalties but have a number of injury worries heading into the decider.

Key forward John O'Gorman missed their Munster club football semi-final against Kilmurry at the weekend after picking up a hamstring issue in that win over The Banner, while centre back Bryan Hannigan came off injured in that loss.

Both players would be big absentees if they are unable to take to the field in Mallow with Hannigan in superb form wearing the number six jersey in the semi-final and O'Gorman firing over two points in the win.

Feenagh-Kilmeedy blazed through the Limerick championship with wins over Ahane, Killeedy, Castletown-Ballyagran, Old Christians and St Patrick's in the group stage, before victories over Drom-Broadford and Kilteely-Dromkeen saw them into the final.

They came out on the wrong side of a penalty shoot-out in the dramatic final against Mungret but showed superb resilience to even bring the game that far.

St Catherine's were also defeated in their county final in Cork but they have impressed with wins over Ardmore and Ballynahinch to get to the Munster final. The game has a 1.30pm start and is being streamed live by Munster GAA.
