One win for Limerick clubs from Munster GAA action

MUNGRET ST Paul's were the big winners of the Limerick sides in Munster action at the weekend with their win over Roanmore booking a place in the provincial Intermediate Football Championship.

The Limerick city side produced a stunning display to dispatch the Waterford champions with ease and will now play Cork's Cill Na Martra in the final in a couple of weeks time.

Eoin Ryan's goal and there Shane Barry points in the first half had them 1-5 to 0-1 at the break and that dominance continued after the break that sealed a 10-point winning margin and in with a chance of finishing what has been a sensational year for the club with a Munster title.

Feenagh-Kilmeedy exited the Munster Junior Football Championship at the semi-final stages following a heavy defeat to Cork side Kilmurry in Cloughduv on Saturday afternoon. The west Limerick side were in trouble from the off and trailled by eight points at the break.

Any hopes of a second half comeback were quickly quashed on the game's resumption when Liam Wall got the Cork outfit's first of four second half goals. They eventually won out on a 4-16 to 0-2 scoreline.

There was also heartbreak for Monaleen's camogie team after a one-point loss in the Munster Club Intermediate Championship final against Clare's St Joseph's Doora Barefield.

The city outfit fell to a 4-7 to 0-18 defeat after extra time following a thrilling 60 minutes that saw the teams level.
Monaleen were six down at the break but produced a sensational second half comeback to force extra time.

They held a two-point advantage at half time of extra time but the Clare outfit scored a crucial fourth goal that saw them to victory.
