Monagea ladies gunning for Munster Intermediate title

The Monagea panel that will take on Glanmire in the Munster Intermediate final this afternoon.

MONAGEA fly the Limerick flag on Sunday when they take on Cork's Glanmire in the Munster Club Intermediate Ladies Football final on Sunday afternoon.

The Limerick champions have reached this stage after a superb victory over Rathmore of Kerry in their semi-final. Monagea reversed a three-point half time deficit to earn a win that sets up a final date with Glanmire. The Cork champions beat Tipperary's Boherlahan-Dualla in the other semi-final.

Monagea have former Limerick manager Billy Lee as part of their backroom team and have plenty of experience on the field as well.

Grace and Yvonne Lee, as well as Karen O'Leary and Deborah Murphy are fresh from picking up their awards after being named on the TG4 Junior Ladies Team of the Year, while Catriona Davis continues to be a threat at the edge of the square.

Elsewhere, the likes of Laura Walshe, Ellie Woulfe, Amy Curtin and Kate Geary have played pivotal roles in their run in Limerick and Munster.

Glanmire will be favourites to earn the Munster title but this group of Monagea players are used to winning and will be hell bent of leaving Mallow with another title to their name.

The game at the Mallow GAA Sports Complex has a 12.45pm throw-in on Sunday. It's a busy time for the dual players in the panel as Newcastle West are out in Munster camogie action the following week against Sarsfields of Cork at their own grounds.
