Four teams battle it out for Limerick intermediate football final places

IT'S SEMI-FINAL time in the Griffins Coaches Intermediate Football Championship with both games down for decision this Saturday afternoon.

At 1pm, Mungret St Paul's meet Rathkeale in Na Piarsaigh's Drumgoole Park in Caherdavin, while at 3pm, Drom-Broadford face St Senan's in Askeaton.

Mungret have been in sensational form heading into the semi-final with five wins from their group putting them directly into the last four. Former Limerick star Pa Ranahan is part of their setup.

They face a Rathkeale outfit that have been close to getting back to the senior grade since being relegated a few years ago. Mungret had a 1-11 to 0-10 win when they met at the group stage. Rathkeale won by a solitary point in their quarter-final with Galbally.

In the other semi-final, Drom-Broadford will be hoping they can overcome slight favourites St Senan's in their game in Askeaton.

Drom beat St Patrick's by a point in their quarter-final and finished second behind Mungret in the group stage. St Senan's topped their group and improved massively since their opening round loss to Galbally.

St Patrick's, Castlemahon and Crecora-Manister all fell by the wayside after that defeat and Senan's come into the game on an impressive winning streak.

The IFC final is scheduled to take place in Askeaton on November 4.
