The New York U17 hurling side that will be visiting Limerick next month.

LIMERICK is set for an influx of budding hurlers from New York who are coming to the city next month. An U17 Hurling Development team from New York is set to play a number of matches at the University of Limerick in June.
A total of 24 American born hurlers will become the first New York hurling development team to play in Limerick and Ireland when they visit next month. The trip begins on Thursday, June 22
One of the management team, Eamonn Ryan, who is a native of Bohermore in East Limerick, is hoping for local support from the GAA community to help fund the trip.
"We have flights booked and accommodation at UL,” explained Ryan. “We are working on buses, fields, local trainers, physios and local activities to entertain the 24 boys.
"Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. It can’t all be hurling. We want them to have great memories of the trip."
Ryan is calling on as many people as possible to help the group on their trip back to his home, and if they can, make a donation to the NY Minor Board U17 Hurling Development Team.
He is joined in the management team by: Mike Kennedy (Tipperary), Sean O’Neill (Cork) and Caroline Martin (Galway). Martin is also the co-ordinater of the trip to Ireland.
