LIMERICK'S senior footballers got off to an excellent start to the Tailteann Cup when they saw off Longford on a 2-16 to 1-16 scoreline at the TUS Gaelic Grounds on Saturday last.
Goals in either half from Cathal Downes and Brian Donovan helped Mark Fitzgerald's side to a victory that puts them in a good position heading into their second game in group three on Saturday afternoon against Carlow.
