Carey talk concludes 10-week drive for Drom-Broadford LGFA club

Limerick hurling legend Ciarán Carey will give a talk this coming Sunday as part of Drom-Broadford LGFA's #Lidlonegoodclub

DROMCOLLIGHER- Broadford's Ladies football club are the sole Limerick representative of the #Lidlonegoodclub initiative.
The club is holding their final event this weekend that sees Limerick legend Ciaran Carey give a talk on mental health, addiction and a host of other topics.

This initiative delivered in association with Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) and Jigsaw the National Centre for Youth Mental Health, is a five-step youth mental health awareness programme for LGFA clubs which aims to raise awareness for clubs that aim to improve understanding of mental health

The initiative was delivered over 10 weeks is based on Jigsaw’s “5-a-day for your mental health” frameworkThe closing event of the initiative will see Limerick legend Carey share his life experiences and discuss the importance of looking after your mental health as well as addressing the stigma that exists in the community around addiction and depression.

The event takes place at Dromcollogher Community Hall on Sunday, May 14 with an 8pm start.
This free talk is open to all in the community.

The Drom-Broadford committee is being led by former Limerick ladies football captain Niamh McCarthy (Chairperson), Caroline Kirwan, Siobhan McCarthy, Eileen O’Keeffe, Clodagh Buckley, Caoimhe McCarthy, Anne Buckley and Gearoid Hegarty.
