BRUFF’S junior B hurlers are in Munster final action on Saturday when they face Thurles Sarsfields in Raheenagh. The host club, Killeedy have been running the provincial and All-Ireland Junior B Championships since 2006.

Bruff made the provincial decider following a victory over Sixmilebridge in the semi-final earlier this month. The 2-8 to 0-10 win was a hard fought one after ‘The Bridge’ led by a point at half time.

They face a Thurles Sarsfields outfit that saw off Cork’s Freemount in their last four clash by a 12-point winning margin. Bruff will be looking to the likes of David Browne, Ian Gardiner and John Bulfin to edge them past the famed Tipperary club.

Browne’s total of 1-9 paved the way for success over Doon in last November’s Limerick final. Gardiner also chipped in with a couple of goals in that victory.

Roger Mulqueen’s men will be underdogs going into the contest but will be hopeful that a strong Limerick support can help them over the line.

Bruff were the form team in the Limerick junior b championship with four victories from their group games. Wins over Castletown-Ballyagran, Effin, Dromin-Athlacca and a walkover against Hospital-Herbertstown saw Bruff top the group before a victory over Bruree in the south final.

Bruff’s Munster club Junior B final with Thurles Sars has a 2pm throw-in at Raheenagh tomorrow.
