Ardscoil Ris in Harty Cup quarter-final action against Our Lady's Templemore

ARDSCOIL Ris are back in Harty Cup action this Wednesday when they face Our Lady's Templemore in their quarter final at the University of Limerick's 4G pitch.

Liam Cronin's side have two victories from their two group games with a 3-12 to 1-15 victory over Cashel beginning their campaign.

That was followed up by a two-point success against St Flannan's and the successive wins have put the North Circular Road school into the last eight of the competition.

Ardscoil face a Templemore side that earned a first round win over Pobail Scoil Na Trionide of Youghal but suffered a 13-point loss in their next game against Thurles CBS.

Cronin will be looking to Limerick U20 star Cian Scully to lead the team into the last four with another solid performance. The Dromin-Athlacca Banogue youngster has been in excellent Harty Cup form, scoring 1-9 from their two matches to date.

Templemore have one win to their name in this season's competition but also have a heavy defeat to Thurles CBS from their group games. However, they did beat Rochestown in the knockout stage to set up their last eight berth.

Jamie Ormond has been the star man for Templemore thus far and he has been ably backed up by Ciaran O'Shea and Tipperary All-Ireland minor winner from last year, Paddy Phelan.

Ardscoil lost out in the Harty Cup Final in 2022 to St Joseph's Secondary School, Tulla but managed to taste sweet victory in the Croke Cup against St Kieran's College on St Patrick's Day.
