LAST year's finalists UL open their Sigerson Cup campaign tomorrow evening when they take on UCC at the Mardyke. The Cork college will be firm favourites for the fixture given their home advantage.
There are two Limerick representatives on the UL squad, Ronan McElligott of Mungret St Pauls and John Hayes from St Kieran's.
The UL side are back-boned by Galway All-Star Jack Glynn, Mayo's Eoghan McLaughlin and Clare's Emmett McMahon. The game has a 7pm throw-in at the Cork venue. Former Kerry minor star Paul Walsh is also part of the panel.
David Clifford was the star turn in the UL side in 2022 along with Cork defender Sean Power, as well as Limerick and Adare footballer Paul Maher who captained the team.
