King John’s Castle is to host a special concert at 9pm on Good Friday when celebrated acapella trio The Voice Squad make a welcome return.
The castle will be transformed into a candlelit music venue for the night to create a special setting for the traditional close-harmony vocal trio of Fran McPhail, Phil Callery and Gerry Cullen.
After a 10-year hiatus, the trio have recorded a brand new album Concerning Of Three Young Men, their first since 1991’s Hollywood.
The trio’s nique sound has carried them from the small smoky folk clubs around Ireland to recording and live performances with artists such as, The Chieftains, Rita Connolly, Christy Hennessy, Elvis Costello, Jimmy McCarthy, Sinead O’Connor, Liam O’Flynn, John Renbourn and Dolores Keane.
Capacity for the concert is limited and tickets cost €25 with a concession to €22 for students and OAPs and are available from www.steeplesessions.com
