Sold! Roadside farm close to Limerick village makes €625k at auction

Outstanding farm is superbly located less than 1km from Croom in the heart of the Golden Vale
GVM’s Richard Ryan didn’t have to shout “mayday” at a highly successful land sale in Kilmallock Mart’s auction room this May.
The public sale of a 32 acre non-residential roadside farm at Church Road, Croom took place on May 12.
It is described by Mr Ryan as “an outstanding farm, superbly located less than 1km from Croom in the heart of the renowned Golden Vale”.
The property was offered for sale in its entirety. All the bids came from in house even though there was an online registration option through the online LSL facility.
Bidding opened at €425,000. Mr Ryan had a relatively easy job to arrive at €545,000. After a brief recess the property was placed on the market.
Mr Ryan dropped his gavel a few minutes later at €625,000 in favour of Limerick city-based auctioneer Paul O’Brien, who was bidding on behalf of an undisclosed buyer.
Commenting after the auction, Mr Ryan said he and the vendors were very pleased with the price achieved.
