Gortatlea Mart is preparing for a busy start to the spring season.
The mart, based at Ballymac, Tralee, Co Kerry, V92CY98, has a busy schedule for the coming weeks.
This Wednesday, March 4 there is a runner and weanling sale from 2pm to 5pm.
The mart reports massive demand for all types of runners and weanlings for the home and export market.
On Friday, March 6 there is a sale of cows and factory bull heifers, young bulls, and bullocks.
Intake will be from 8am, with the sale commencing at 10am.
Ahead of the sale, mart officials expect high demand for calved and in calf cows, as well as breeding bulls.
On Monday, March 9 there is a calf sale.
Intake is from 8am, with the sale starting at 10am.
On Wednesday, March 11 is a dairy sale at 12.30 with 25 freshly calved heifers, High EBI, low SSC, Solids 500kg, from a milk recorded herd, dairy bred all AI bred.
Also included will be 20 PBR freshly calved heifers, all AI bred, five freshly calved heifers from a milk recorded herd - high yielding Dam, and high EBI AI Sire and good solids and five freshly calved cows with three freshly calved heifers, from a milk recorded herd, all AI bred.
On Wednesday, March 25 is the Kerry Holstein Friesian Breeders Dairy Annual Show & Sale.
Next month, Wednesday, April 1, is a freshly calved heifers and young stock, while on Wednesday, April 8 is a E&U Grade Heifer Sale.
