Tadhg triumphed in Tullow and Aoife claimed top prize in Cappamore
SHOW season is a hectic time for pedigree breeders and none more so than the Hannon family from Croagh.
On most weekends during the summer - Mike, Jenny and their four children Tadhg, Aoife, Eilis and Micheal - expertly prepare their cattle down to the tiniest detail, load them up early in the morning and put the showgrounds into Google Maps.
Although there aren't many shows, if any, that they don’t know the fastest route to.
One weekend, in particular, was very busy but very fruitful. On the Saturday, Aoife, aged 9, claimed the Under-10 Young Stockperson title at Cappamore Show.
When asked what set her apart, the modest young lady said there was stiff competition and praised her dad's commercial heifer.

Then on the following day, they set off for Tullow Show in Carlow where Tadhg won the ISA FBD All-Ireland Junior Young Stockperson in Tullow. He had qualified at the Kilrush Show earlier in the summer.
Mike and Jenny Hannan’s other two children - Eilis and Micheal - are expert handlers in show rings too and have many rosettes to their names.
They are all back to school now but they have plenty to write about if their teacher asks them what they did during the summer.
