AS EXAM season approaches it is easy to forget that school life isn’t all about academic excellence. Ardscoil Mhuire certainly hasn’t forgotten that there is more to school than H1s and H2s. The secondary school held its annual awards night, which featured accolades for kind and courteous personalities, in the Strand Hotel. “This is always a special event for the Corbally-based school community due to what it represents - a joyous celebration of the hard work, passion, and dedication of its staff and students during the entire academic year,” said Patrick Huff, school PRO and co-ordinator of digital learning and PR. Nominations for classroom-based subjects were made based on numerous criteria, with hundreds of thrilled students being acknowledged for their talent, effort, enthusiasm, and contribution to the high-quality teaching and learning that occurs on a daily basis. Other students were selected in recognition of their effect on the whole school community; be it through leadership, extra-curricular activities, or indeed kind and courteous personalities. The recipients of these special awards were those who were seen to have excelled.
