A NUMBER of Limerick schools will remain closed today following the Christmas break due to health and safety concerns. 

Scoil Pól, Kilfinane is closed due to 'unforeseen circumstances.' All further updates regarding the opening of the school on Tuesday will be posted on Facebook and on the school app on Monday afternoon.

Work will be posted for students on Microsoft Teams as per the school timetable.

Gaelscoil Sáirséal in Limerick City is also closed today due to an issue with the heating system.

Taking to social media the school said:

"Sincere apologies for the late notice but the problem arose this morning as the heating was working at the weekend when it was checked. We will update you all as soon as possible."
