Limerick students begin state exams

ALMOST 2,500 students from across Limerick have begun sitting this year’s Leaving Certificate Examinations.

ALMOST 2,500 students from across Limerick have begun sitting this year’s Leaving Certificate Examinations.

The students completed English Paper 1 this morning at exam centres across the city and county. The Home Economics, Scientific and Social examination is taking place this afternoon.

According to the State Examinations Commission, a total of 2,493 students are scheduled to sit the Leaving Certificate in Limerick.

A further 156 are sitting the Leaving Certificate Applied while 2,873 students are sitting the Junior Certificate.

This year is seeing the final group of students sitting the Leaving Certificate at Ard Scoil Mhuire in Bruff while students from Gaelcholaiste Luimni are sitting the Leaving Certificate for the first time.

This years Junior and Leaving Certificate exams are due to continue until June 22, next.
