FOUR NEW public electric vehicle charging points are to be installed at a number of key locations across east Limerick over the next six months, it has been confirmed.

The development, which is good news for motorists who own electric vehicles, was confirmed by the local authority at the October meeting of Kilmallock- Cappamore Municipal District.

The new fast charging points will be installed at the public library in Kilmallock, Sycamore Drive in Bruff, the Square in Caherconlish and at Monastery Road in Doon.

The information came in response to a query from Cllr Brigid Teefy who had asked for an update on the situation regarding the status, rollout and timeline of the charging points as the popularity of electric cars continues to grow around the country.
