Deaths in Limerick - February 7, 2019

The death has occurred of Tony Danaher, Ballinacurra Gardens, Limerick, late CIE, suddenly.

Beloved husband of Bridie. Dearly loved father of Monique, Samantha, Sonia, Natasha and the late Warren and Lorraine. Sadly missed by his son-in-law Dan , daughter-in-law Pauline, his beloved grandchildren, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street on Sunday evening from 4.30pm to 6pm followed by removal to St Joseph’s Church, O’ Connell Avenue. Requiem Mass on Monday at 11.30am with burial afterwards in Mount St Lawrence Cemetery Extension.

The death has occurred of Stuart Dannell, Dooradoyle Road, Limerick, formerly of London, late of Enterprise Cars and the Royal Navy U.K., peacefully at home in the loving care of his wife Trudy.

Much loved husband of Trudy. Sadly missed by his sons Mark and family (Devon U.K.) and Stuart (Dublin), daughter Beccy and family (Canada), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, extended family and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at Thompsons Funeral Home, Thomas Street this Monday evening from 6.00pm to 7.30pm followed by removal to the Dominican’s Church. Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 11.30am followed by cremation in Shannon Cremation at 1.30pm. Family flowers only. Donations if desired to Milford Care Centre or the Daffodil Centre, Irish Cancer Society.

The death has occurred of Frank Cahill, Clontarf, Dublin and formerly of Limerick, late of Clark’s International, peacefully after a short illness.

Beloved husband of Aveen and loving father of Ian, Mark Liza and Susan. Very sadly missed by his loving family, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, his adored grandchildren Ted, Abigail, Syro, Katie, Matthew and Nathan, sisters, brother, extended family and wide circle of friends.

Reposing in Lanigan’s Funeral Home, 21 Beaumont Road on Friday from 4pm to 6pm. Removal on Saturday morning to St. Gabriel’s Church, Dollymount arriving at 10.20am for Funeral Mass at 10.30am followed by cremation in Dardistown Crematorium, Cloghran, Co. Dublin. No flowers by request please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to The Liver Unit, St. Vincent’s University Hospital.

The death has occurred of Mary Fitzpatrick, Barrigone and late of Abbot Close Nursing Home, Askeaton, Co. Limerick, peacefully at the University Hospital Limerick.

Sister of the late Pat (Shanna Hospital). Very deeply regretted by her nephews Jimmy and John, sister-in-law Margaret, grand nephews, grand nieces, relatives, kind neighbours and her many friends.

Reposing this Friday evening from 7pm at St. Senan's Church, Robertstown. Followed by evening prayer at 8pm. Funeral Saturday after 12 noon Requiem Mass with burial afterwards in Robertstown Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Bridget (Bridie) MC GOVERN (née Brady), Belfield Gardens, Ennis Road, Limerick City and late of Gort, Co. Galway and The Punch Bowl Bar, John Street, Limerick, peacefully at UHL.

Beloved wife of the late Joe, dearest mother of Carmel (Ronan) & Joan (Dowling) , devoted nana to Nicola, Jason, David, Geoffrey, Claire, Shane and Alice and loving sister of Lil (Glynn), Paddy, Joan (Taffe), Clora (Graham) and the late Mary (Murphy), Una (Radcliffe), Attracta (Conlon), Ann (O'Connor), Martin & Frank. Sadly missed by her sons-in-law Paul & Peter, nieces, nephews, relatives and her many friends.

Reposing at Griffin’s Funeral Home, John’s Gate on Friday (Feb. 8th) from 5pm with removal at 6.30pm to Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Ennis Road. Requiem Mass on Saturday (Feb. 9th) at 11am. Funeral afterwards to Crecora (New) Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Sheila Tighe (née McDonald), Ashbrook Park, Ennis Road and Kyleglass, North Circular Road, Limerick, formerly of Dublin, eacefully at University Hospital Limerick.

Beloved wife of the late Desmond (Aer Lingus). Dearly loved mother of Gina (O’ Gorman), Damian, Desmond and the late Raymond and Yvonne (Tighe McMahon). Sister of the late Kay, Frank, Desmond and Lily. Sadly missed by her loving sister Róisín, son-in-law John, daughters-in-law Méav, Renée and Joanna, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Requiem Mass on Sunday February 10th at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Ennis Road at 2pm. Burial on Monday February 11th in St Fintan’s Cemetery, Sutton, Dublin at 2pm.

The death has occurred of Sr. Mary Conleth (Maire) Airey, Tiernahilla, Ballingarry, Limerick and the Sisters of Nazareth, Finchley, London, peacefully surrounded by her community and family at the North London Hospice. 

Sadly missed by her loving brother Denis, sister-in-law Maureen, nieces Maire, Mairead, Deirdre, Jackie, Denise, Siobhán and Miriam, nephew Ronan, the Community of the Sisters of Nazareth, her much loved grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing in St. Mary's Church, Clouncagh, on Saturday February 9th., from 6pm until 8pm. Requiem Mass on Sunday, February 10th., at 2pm. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations, instead, to Nazareth House Care Home, Mallow.

The death has occurred of Thomas (Tom) Bond, Rockvale, Newport, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Dunmoylan, Shanagolden, Co. Limerick, peacefully at Milford Care Centre. 

Predeceased by his brothers John, Jimmy, Paddy, Mick and Willie and sisters Betty, Bridie and Sarah. Sadly missed by his loving wife Margaret, daughters Ellen, and Charlotte and son Thomas, son-in-law Philip, grandchildren Diarmuid, Dáire, Cillian and Aoibheann, brother Frank (London), sisters EileenTobin, Mary O’Connor, Cecelia Kozak (U.S.A), extended family, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Meehan’s Funeral Home, Newport on Friday, 8th February, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Arrival on Saturday at the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, Newport for 11.30 a.m. Requiem Mass, burial afterwards in Rockvale Cemetery, Newport.. No Flowers please, donations, if desired, to Milford Hospice.
