Deaths in Limerick - December 3, 2018

The death has occurred of Eleanor McNamara (née Sheehy), Clondrinagh, Ennis Road, Limerick formerly of Bullaun, Askeaton, Co. Limerick, peacefully at University Hospital Limerick in her 98th year.

Beloved wife of the late Michael. Dearly loved mother of Dympna (Tobin), Nuala (Dodd), Ann (Kelly) and Tom. Sadly missed by her loving sons-in-law Dick and Peter, daughter-in-law Jean, grandchildren, Aoife, Conor, Stephen, Eithne, Brian, Maebh, Deirdre, Rachel, Róisín, Aideen, Kevin and Sinéad, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Griffin’s Funeral Home, John’s gate, Pennywell on Tuesday evening from 6.30pm to 8pm followed by removal to St John the Baptist Church, Meelick. Requiem mass on Wednesday at 11.30am with burial afterwards in Castlemungret Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Christine Scallan (née Roche-Kelly), Ballinacurra Road, Ballinacurra, Limerick, peacefully at University Hospital Limerick. 

Deeply regretted by her loving husband Joseph, sisters Mary (Spillane), Jane (Bulfin), Frances (Lavelle) & Patricia (Baird), brothers Hubert and John (pre-deceased by Fitz-James), their families, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Griffin’s Funeral Home, John’s Gate on Wednesday (Dec. 5th) from 5pm. Removal at 6:30pm to St. Joseph’s Church, O’Connell Avenue. Requiem Mass on Thursday (Dec. 6th) at 11.30pm. Burial afterwards in Mount St. Lawrence Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Donal Flannery, South Quay, Newcastle West, Limerick, retired veterinary surgeon, peacefully at UHL. 

Deeply regretted by his loving daughter Marguerite, son-in-law Stephen, grandchildren brothers, sisters , nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Arriving at Newcastle West Church Monday, 3rd December, at 7pm. Requiem mass Tuesday, 4th December, at 11.30am and burial afterwards in Monsea Cemetery, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. House private please. Family flowers only.

The death has occurred of Robert J. (Bob) Hyland, Mitchel Street, Thurles, Co Tipperary and formerly Galbally, Co Limerick, peacefully surrounded by his loving family, in the wonderful care of the staff of the Community Hospital of the Assumption, Thurles.

Reposing in Hugh Ryan's Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles on Tuesday 4th Dec' from 4pm to 6.30pm. Arriving at the Cathedral of the Assumption, Thurles at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Wednesday 5th at 11am. Burial afterwards in St Patrick's Cemetery, Thurles. Family flowers only, donations, if desired, to Milford Care Centre and Community Hospital of the Assumption.

The death has occurred of Anthony Lynch, Moylish Road, Ballynanty, Limerick, late of St. Munchin's Street, St. Mary's Park & 12th Battalion Sarsfield Barracks, peacefully at Milford Care Centre.

The death has occurred of Fiona McElligott, Ballytrasna, Old Pallas, Limerick, peacefully at home.

Reposing at home (Eir code V94RX30) all day Tuesday (December 4th). Removal on Wednesday (December 5th) to St. John the Baptist Church, Nicker, to arrive for 11.30am Mass with funeral afterwards to Old Pallas Cemetery.
