Recent deaths in Limerick

The death has occurred of Paddy Hoare, 54 Clarina Ave., Ballinacurra Weston and Young Munster RFC, unexpectedly.

Husband of the late Peg. Deeply regretted by his loving daughters Sandra, Fiona and Niamh, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great grandson, brothers Noel, Joe and Frank, sister Pauline and brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street on Monday evening from 5.30pm to 7pm followed by removal to St Michael’s Church, Denmark Street.

Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 11am with burial afterwards in Mount St Oliver Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Timothy (Timmie Luke) Collins, Dromtrasna Collins, Abbeyfeale, at St. Ita’s Hospital, Newcastle West.

Deeply regretted by his sister Eileen, cousins, neighbours and friends. Reposing at Harnett’s Funeral Home, The Square, Abbeyfeale on Monday from 6.30 p.m. followed by removal at 8pm to Church of the Assumption Abbeyfeale. Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 11am. Funeral afterwards to The Old Cemetery, The Square, Abbeyfeale.

The death has occurred of Mary Denihan, Stoneyhurst, Dooradoyle, Limerick and late of Gortnagross, Athea, at St Catherine's Nursing Home, Newcastle West surrounded by her loving family and the wonderful staff of St Catherine's Nursing Home. 

Beloved daughter of the late Richard and Ellen and sister of the late Michael, Kilmanihan, Knocknagoshel. Survived by her brothers Richard and Paddy, sisters Joan (Dunne), Ann (Coakley), Tina (McCarthy) an d Breda (Kerin), sisters in law, brothers in law, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at St Catherine's Nursing Home on Sunday evening, December 17th, from 5pm to 7pm with removal at 7pm to St Bartholomew’s Church, Athea. Requiem Mass will take place on Monday, December 18th, at 12 noon with burial afterwards in Templeathea Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Gobnait Kelly (née Wall), Huntsfield, Dooradoyle and late of Roxboro Road and Upper William Street, peacefully at University Hospital Limerick. 

Beloved sister of Maura Wall Murphy and dearest mother of Catherine, Séan, Mary, Liam, Gobnait, Gerard, Padraig, Diarmuid, Marguerite, Sinead and Corina. Sadly missed by her loving sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Reposing at home in Dooradoyle on Sunday (Dec. 17th) from 2pm to 5pm. Reposing at Griffin’s Funeral Home, John’s Gate on Monday (Dec 18th) from 5.30pm. Removal at 7pm to St. Saviour’s Dominican Church, Limerick. Funeral on Tuesday (Dec. 19th) after 11am Mass to Mount St. Lawrence Cemetery.

The death has occurred of James (Jim) Madden, Killeline Heights, Newcastle West, late of Dublin and London, peacefully at Milford Hospice. 

Survived by his partner Elizabeth, son Paul, stepdaughter Ann, stepsons Sean and Robert, grandchildren Siobhan, Ronan, Oliver, Laura, Charlotte, Leap, Jack, James and Grace. Relatives and friends.

Reposing at Riedy’s Funeral Home, Newcasltewest on Saturday from 6pm to 7:30. Arriving at Newcastlewest Church at 8pm. Requiem Mass on Sunday at 9:15am with cremation afterwards at Shannon Crematorium at 12 noon. No flowers please, donations if desired to Milford Hospice.

The death has occurred of Mary B. Byrnes (née O'Connor), Ballynoe, Ballingarry, peacefully in the gentle care of Caherass Nursing Home Croom.

Beloved wife of the late Michael Byrnes and dearest sister of the late Charles O'Connor. Deeply mourned by her loving family, Pat, Charles, Ann (Cahill), Marie (Cahill) and Patricia (McCarthy),daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at O'Grady's Funeral Home, Ballingarry, on Sunday December 17th, from 5pm until 7pm arriving at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Ballingarry, at 7.45pm. Requiem Mass on Monday, December 18th, at 11.30am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The death has occurred of Madeline Murphy (née Barrett), New Street/Leens Hotel, Abbeyfeale.

Beloved wife of the late Dan and loving mother of Brigid, Trish, Denis and Brian; grandmother of Siobhán, Leen, Deirdre, Tess, Ailbhe, Adam and Rebecca; sadly missed by her family, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, neighbours and many friends.
