Deaths in Limerick: Tuesday, March 12, 2024

It is with deep sadness we announce the death of Michael McEvoy, Silver Birch Grove, Dooradoyle and formerly of Sarsfield Barracks Limerick.

On February 28th 2026, peacefully, at St Paul’s Nursing Home, Dooradoyle, surrounded by his loving Family.

Pre deceased by his father Joseph, mother Sarah and John Naughton, brothers Christy, Paddy, Joe, and Paul, nephew Luke, grandson Riain.

Sadly missed by his wife Geraldine, sons Frank and Kevin, grandchildren Laurie, Róisín and Gearóid, sister Mary, brothers Johnny, Philip and Frankie, daughters-in-law Caroline and Jessica, nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and neighbours

Reposing at Cross’s Funeral Home, Gerald Griffin Street, Tuesday, March 3rd, from 5.30pm to 7pm.

Funeral will arrive Wednesday, March 4th, at St. Paul's Church Dooradoyle [V94HP62], for Requiem Mass at 11am, funeral afterwards to Castlemungret Cemetery, Mungret [V94452C]

Michael’s family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Ann and her team at St Paul’s Nursing Home, for their exceptional care and support.

On February 28th 2026, after a short illness, at University Hospital Limerick, surrounded by her loving family.

Pre deceased by parents Breda and Richard Maher.

Sadly missed by her sisters Annette and Patricia, brothers-in-law Teddy and Paddy, nieces Carol, Elizabeth, Anna, Vivienne, Catherine (Melbourne) and Niamh (Melbourne), nephews Tim and Colin (Melbourne), other relatives, friends and neighbours.

The death has occurred of Christina (Charlie) Kelly (Nèe O'Sullivan), Corgrigg, Foynes, Co. Limerick.

On February 28th 2026, peacefully surrounded by her loving family and in the excellent care of the staff in Milford Care Centre.

Pre-deceased by her Father Dan, Mother Kitty, Brother Michael, Sisters Catherine and Joan, Father In Law Jim & Mother In Law Mary.

Beloved wife of Eamon and much loved mother of Garry and Jacqueline. Sadly missed by her Daughter In Law Carmel and Son In Law Damien. Adored and cherished Grandmother of Sophie, Grace & Charlie. Fondly remembered by her Sisters Mary, Margaret and Nora, Brothers Chris, Donie, Johnny and Seamus, Sisters in Law, Brothers in Law, Nephews, Nieces,along with her many friends and kind neighbours in Ballyguiltenane and Foynes.

May Christina's Gentle Soul Rest In Eternal Peace

Reposing at St. Senan's Church Foynes this Tuesday evening 3rd March from 6pm to 8pm. Requiem Mass in St. Senan's Church Foynes at 12 noon on Wednesday 4th March (live-stream link to follow) followed by burial afterwards in Robertstown Graveyard.

The death has occurred of Tom Cooney, Oak Lodge, Ennis Road, Limerick and late Old Crescent R.F.C. and Lahinch, Co. Clare. February 28th 2026, peacefully in the excellent care of Nenagh General Hospital after a brief illness.

Beloved husband of Jennifer. Dearly loved father of Simon, Caroline and Chris. 

Tom will be very sadly missed by his daughters-in-law Maureen and Lorraine, his cherished grandchildren Aoibhe, Max, Luke, Matthew and baby Daniel, brother John, sisters Anne, Yvonne and Marianne, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street on Tuesday 3rd March from 5pm to 6.30pm. Funeral arriving at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Ennis Road for Requiem Mass on Wednesday 4th March at 11am followed by Cremation Service at Shannon Crematorium at 1pm.
