Deaths in Limerick: Monday, October 14, 2024

The death has occurred of Charles (Charlie) Stratton, Inchebawn, Templeglantine, Co. Limerick and formerly of Ulcombe, Kent, England, passed away peacefully at University Hospital Limerick on Sunday, 18th January 2026. 

Charlie is very sadly missed by his loving wife Olive (née Mahoney), children Jerry, Maureen and Sean, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, all his other relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Harnett’s Funeral Home, The Square, Abbeyfeale (V94 AK44) on Wednesday, 21st January from 6.00 p.m. until 7.30 p.m. Removal on Thursday, 22nd January to The Church of The Most Holy Trinity, Templeglantine to arrive for Requiem Mass at 11.00 a.m. Interment afterwards in the adjoining Reilig na Tríonóide.

The death has occurred of Ann Ryan (neè Quirke), Huntsfield, Dooradoyle, Limerick and late of Tiermanagh, Pallasgreen, peacefully, at her residence on the 17th January 2026. 

Predeceased by her husband John. Sadly missed by her daughter Sinéad, son Eoin and Eoin's partner Namdok, grandson Daniel, brothers Jerry, Jim, Eamonn and Mike, sisters Kay, Eileen, Mairéad and Paula, nieces, nephews, grandnephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, extended family and friends.

Reposing on Tuesday evening from 5pm at Ryan-White's Funeral Home, Pallasgreen with removal at 7pm to St. Brigid's Church, Templebraden (V94N5Y3).

Requiem mass on Wednesday at 11.30am in Templebraden Church, followed by burial in Killinaive Cemetery, Templederry, Co. Tipperary (E45HO48). Donations, if desired, to Milford Care Centre.

The death has occurred of Sean O’Neill, Riverbank, Annacotty and originally Shannabooly, Ballynanty, Limerick.

Peacefully but unexpectedly, at University Hospital Limerick, on 19th January 2026.

Sean is sadly missed by his beloved wife Sheila, cherished daughters Éadaoin and Gráinne, adored grandchildren Séan-Óg, Mollie, Grace and Sadhbh, sons-in-law Phil and Gavin, brothers Richard, Ger and Christy, sister Mabel, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives , neighbours and friends.

It is with deep sadness we announce the death of Anne (Nancy) Lynch (née Pearse) Main Street, Oola, Co. Limerick and late of Lynwood Park, Ballysimon, Limerick

On January 19th 2026, peacefully, in her 94th year, in the tender care of the staff of the Saoirse Ward, St. Camillus Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Pre-deceased by husband Michael Gerard.

Very deeply regretted by children Michael, Christopher and Janice, son-in-law Richard, daughters-in-law Linda and Mary, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers Frank and Thomas, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Reposing at Cross’s Funeral Home, Lower Gerald Griffin Street, Tuesday, January 20th, from 3.30pm to 5pm, followed by removal to St. Munchin’s Church, Clancy Strand.

Requiem Mass Wednesday, January 21st, at 11am, Funeral afterwards to Mount St. Oliver Cemetery.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Terence (Terry) Lonergan, Clareview, Ballyroe, Lisready, Loughill, Co. Limerick on 18th January, 2026, ex employee of Wimpy and Hegarty, Aughinish. 

Peacefully in the presence of his loving wife, Kit. Predeceased by his parents, son Dave, brothers and sister. 

Terry will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his heartbroken wife Kit, daughter-in-law Mary, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Pat and his wife Helen (Croom), sister-in-law Eileen and husband Patie (Listry, Miltown, Co. Kerry), nephews, nieces, relatives, extended family, kind neighbours, wonderful carers and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing in The Church of the Assumption, Loughill, (eircode V94 K298), from 5.00 pm until 6.30 pm on Tuesday, 20th January. Requiem Mass will be celebrated in The Church of the Assumption, Loughill on Wednesday, 21st January at 12 noon. Terry will be laid to rest in Shanagolden Cemetery.

Special thanks to the staff of Milford Care Centre for their wonderful and professional care given to Terry.

Passed away peacefully, in University Hospital Limerick, on 16th January 2026.

Pre-deceased by her parents Michael and Rita, and sister Marguerite.
