RIP: Limerick deaths and funeral details, Friday, August 8, 2025

The death has occurred of Seamus Bridgeman

Of Clyduff, Lisnagry. On August 7, 2025 peacefully at University Hospital Limerick in the presence of his loving family following a short illness.

Pre-deceased by his parents Kitty and Tom, his infant sister Madie, his sister Nuala, brothers Gerard and Eugene and his wife Madeline.

Seamus will be sadly missed by his heartbroken daughters Yvonne, Charlene and Hazel and his son Seamus. Son in Law Dave, Daughter in law Marie and Yvonne's partner Sean, grandchildren Marley, Seamus, Gearóid and Oisín, brothers Mike, Thomas and Ray, Sisters Frances (Sheehan), Bernadette (O'Brien) and Ann (Ryan), sisters in law, brothers in law, nephews, nieces, cousins, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Rest in peace

Reposing at Meehan’s Funeral Home, Castleconnell on Sunday, August 10, from 5pm to 7pm, with removal to St. Patrick’s Church, Ahane. Requiem Mass on Monday, August 11 at 11:30am. Burial afterwards in Stradbally Cemetery, Castleconnell.

The death has occurred of Helen Hale (née Creagh)

Of Raynes Park, Wimbledon, Britain, and formerly of Ballinahown, Kilmallock, and of The Corner House, Kilfinane and O'Rourkes Hotel, Kilmallock.

On July 29, 2025, suddenly but peacefully in Kingston Hospital, Surrey, UK. Pre-deceased by her parents Michael and Ellen, her sister Sheila and her brothers Timothy and Michael. Very deeply regretted by her brother Patsy, sisters Peggy and Anne, nephews, especially Gerry and Mike (and their wives), Steven and James, Darren and Kevin, nieces, relatives, and her kind neighbours, especially Carol and Brian, and friends in Raynes Park.

Helen's cremation service will be held on Wednesday, August 27, at 2pm, in North East Surrey Crematorium, Cemetery Lodge, Lower Morden Lane, Morden, SM4 4NU.

Mass Cards and letters of sympathy can be traditionally posted to Daffy's Funeral Directors, Kilmallock.

The death has occurred of Brian J. Kealy

Of St Joseph’s Street, late of Dundalk and Montclar, France.

On August 7, 2025, at University Hospital Limerick, after a short illness borne with characteristic strength and fortitude. Beloved husband of Dorothy McIvor-Kealy Dearly loved father of Rachael Kealy, Rebecca Kealy-Ma, Adam Kealy, and Aharon Kealy, and much-adored father-in-law of Anthony Gaffney, Mike Ma, Lisa Healy, and Jennifer Clarke. Cherished grandfather of Nicholas, Isabel, Arthur, and Alexander Ma, Charlotte Kealy, and Amelia Kealy-Gaffney. Sadly missed by all his colleagues and friends in An Garda Síochána, the University of Limerick, and many sporting associations.

Reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Limerick on Sunday, August 10 from 4pm until 6pm. Funeral arriving at St Joseph’s Church, O’Connell Avenue, Limerick on Monday, August 11 for requiem Mass at 11:30am, followed by cremation service in Shannon Crematorium, Clare at 2pm. Family flowers only; donations, if desired, are welcomed by Milford Care Centre.

The family respectfully requests bright colours and summer attire, in celebration of a rich life, lived with great joy and abundant love.

Died on August 7, 2025, peacefully, at Milford Hospice, Limerick,

Dearly loved husband of Kitty (née Browne) and much loved father of Patrick (Paddy), Áine, Liam, Barry and Orla.

Sadly missed by his loving wife and family, brothers Batt and Foncie, sister Meta, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at the Wilton Funeral Home, Sarsfield Road of Jerh. O’Connor Ltd. on Sunday, August 10 from 2.00pm to 3.00pm.

Requiem Mass at 11.30am on Tuesday, August 12 in St. Joseph’s Church, O’Connell Avenue, Limerick which can be viewed on www.My Condolences.ie

Funeral afterwards to Mount St Lawrence (extension) Cemetery, Limerick.

Passed away peacefully at her home on August 7, 2025. Margaret will be sadly missed by her loving family, close friends and kind neighbours.

Reposing this Sunday evening, August 10, at O' Leary's Funeral Home, Hospital from 5pm to 7pm. Margaret's requiem Mass will take place on Monday at 11.30am at St. John the Baptist Church, Hospital and can also be viewed online at https://churchcamlive.ie/hospitalherbertstown/
