Deaths in Limerick: Sunday, March 5, 2023

The death has occurred of Dr. Aidan Spooner, Tanglewood, Adare and Clonroad Mews, Ennis, Co. Clare, formerly of Roscrea, Co. Tipperary and former Director of Element Six, De Beers Group)

24th February 2023, unexpectedly. Husband of Laura (Casey) and the late Rosaleen. To the inexpressible grief of Laura and his children Lynn, Brian, Sarah and Laura’s children Meghan, Evan, Orin and all his grandchildren, daughters in law and sons in law. Deeply missed by his sisters Anne and Nuala, his brothers Jody and Liam and extended family.

Reposing at his home (Eircode: V94XA4A) Tanglewood, Adare, Co. Limerick on Wednesday evening (8th March) from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral arriving at SS Peter and Paul Cathedral, Ennis on Thursday (9th March) for Requiem Mass at 12 noon followed by Cremation Service at Shannon Crematorium at 2pm.

The death has occurred of Marianne O'Reilly (née Danaher), Ballykeeffe Estate, Dooradoyle, Limerick and late of Limerick City & County Council)

2nd March 2023, peacefully. Beloved wife of the late Con. Sadly missed by her loving extended family, relatives and friends.

Funeral arriving at St. Paul’s Church, Dooradoyle, on Tuesday (7th March) for Requiem Mass at 11am with burial afterwards in Mount St Lawrence Extension Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Hanna O'Malley (née Casey), Madaboy, Murroe, formerly of Ballyvarra, Lisnagry, Co. Limerick.

5th March 2023 peacefully in Cratloe Nursing Home. Predeceased by her husband Edward and her sisters Margaret and Mary. Hanna will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her loving brothers Tom and Donal, nieces Marguerite Bríd and Ita, nephews, John, Bernard, Conor and Eamon, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives, kind neighbours and many friends.

Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Meehan’s Funeral Home, Newport on Tuesday 7th March from 6 to 7.30 p.m. Arriving on Wednesday 8th March to the Holy Rosary Church, Murroe for Requiem Mass at 11.30 a.m., burial afterwards in Clonkeen Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to St. Vincent de Paul.

The death has occurred of Frank McInerney, Hogan Avenue, Kileely, Limerick and formerly Ballynanty Rovers F.C., Young Munster R.F.C. & The Over 40’s Soccer Tournament.

Frank passed away peacefully, in the loving care of Adare & District Nursing Home.

Sadly, missed by his loving wife Ann, sons Derek & David, daughters Assunta (Stakelum), Mary (Edwards) & Valerie (Poppinga), sons-in-law Robert, Declan & Harald, daughter-in-law Kelly, his adored grandchildren Anne-Marie, Robbie, Sam, Mark, Darragh, Killian, Jilly, Liam & Niamh, great-granddaughter Farah, brother Mick, sisters Kitty & Eileen, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, kind neighbours & his many friends.

Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Griffin’s Funeral Home, John’s Gate on Wednesday, 8th March, from 5pm to 6:30pm. Arriving at St. Munchin’s Church, Clancy Strand, on Thursday 9th March for Requiem Mass at 11am. Funeral afterwards to Shannon Crematorium.

Mass will be streamed live.
