A BOOK of evidence is to be prepared for Christopher (Christy) Keane, who has been further remanded in custody in Limerick Prison.
Appearing via video link, today, Tuesday, July 21, Mr Keane of Singland Gardens, confirmed that he could see and hear the court in Mulgrave Street, having had difficulties with audio transmission initially.
He said: “Yes, I can hear you now.”
Represented by solicitor Tom Kiely, the 65-year-old was wearing a red t-shirt and confirmed that his name is Christy Keane, as he spoke via video link to those in Court 6.
Mr Keane is charged with Section 15, Section 15 (a) and Section 3 offences contrary to the Misuse of Drugs Act for possession of drugs for sale or supply and simple possession.
The charges relate to drugs seized by gardaí on November 22, 2024, when gardaí searched Mr Keane’s home address under warrant and seized suspected cocaine with an estimated value of €70,000.
The court heard that Mr Keane was originally charged on July 1 in relation to these matters.
Judge Valerie Corcoran remanded Mr Keane in custody on consent to appear again via video link in Limerick City District Court for the service of the book of evidence in August.
