GARDAI are seeking to locate four masked raiders who stole a significant amount of cash after breaking into a supermarket in County Limerick overnight.

It is understood that up to €30,000 was taken by the men who entered the Centra Store at Main Street Kilfinane between 3.30am and 4.10am this Monday.

While investigations are ongoing, gardai believe the culprits, who wore balaclavas, entered the premises after they smashed the front door.

Once inside, they located a safe in an upstairs room before making their escape a short time later.

According to gardai, several bags of coins were discovered on the street outside the premises after the alarm was raised.

CCTV from the area has been obtained and technical and forensic examinations are being carried out along with house-to-house inquiries.

Anyone with information is asked to contact gardai at Kilmallock at 063-98018.
