GARDAI conducted planned multi-agency operations at a halting site in Clonmel and a property in Emly as part of ongoing investigations into incidents in the region.

During the search at a property in Emly on Wednesday, a garda spokesperson confirmed a firearm was seized and will be subject to further technical and ballistic analysis.

“Gardaí also recovered approximately €70,000 of cocaine, which will be subject to further analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI),” said a garda spokesperson.

Meanwhile, a stolen vehicle (pictured below) was recovered during the search at a Clonmel halting site.

“The vehicle will now be subject to technical examination and returned to the owner.

“Ten dogs were also seized during the searches at the halting site by the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ISPCA) due to welfare concerns. They are currently receiving veterinary care,” said the garda spokesperson.

No arrests have been made by gardai, at this time, and investigations are ongoing.
