A 43-YEAR-OLD “educated” woman has appeared in court charged in connection with the alleged ‘laundering’ of over €1,000.

Fidelma Hickey, who has an address at Thomondhouse in Limerick city, lost her job in 2024 due to her problems with addiction, Limerick District Court heard.

Judge Patricia Harney said that “things appear to be going well” for Ms Hickey, but she noted that her addiction remains to be a problem for her.

Upon reviewing a Probation Report, the judge commented that Ms Hickey has “a good structure around her”. She added: “Unlike many people before this court, she seems to be an educated person with potential.”

Following a short procedural hearing Judge Harney adjourned the matter to a date later this month.

None of the facts relating to the alleged offending were outlined during the short hearing.
